About Us

My name is Kennedy Joy Carter and I am a patient at Childrens Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. Since being diagnosed with kidney failure in December 2008, I have spent more than 81 days in the hospital. During this time I went through surgeries, pokes, and tough times. Many times the nurses or a child-life person would give me a stuffed animal or something to comfort me and that made me feel better. These items are donated by various groups, and I wanted to join in and help pass it on to other kids going through medical treatments.

Mission

My foundation Kids Just Care collects new toys, books, games and activities or accepts money donations to buy new toys for kids being treated at Childrens Hospital of Michigan. Out goal is to donate items 4 times per year starting with our 1st donation in December 2009. We are currently organizing out foundation structure and will be filing for 501c3 non-profit status.

Kingdom Project

Fundraising Efforts

My pastor challenged me with a Kingdom Project. I received $25 of God's money, with the challenge to multiply it, and use it to help someone. I decided to use it towards my foundation.

We currently have 2 ongoing fundraising projects

Wish Bracelets--hand strung with glass beads, each one a unique work of Art. These bracelets are made with Warm Wishes by Kennedy & friends. --

Still Scenes Gallery by Kennedy

Donation Containers-- will be placed at several locations in Mayville. We are looking for new unwrapped toys, activities, games, etc. appropriate for teen-aged children hospitalized at Children’s Hospital of Michigan
